Time for a Mint Julep!

So Saturday is the Kentucky Derby and you owe it to yourself to have a mint julep and enjoy the race. The key to a mint julep is crushed ice, bourbon, sugar, and mint. Here's how you make it:
First, buy a simple syrup or make your own, equal parts of sugar and water, you only need about an ounce of simple syrup per drink.
Next, muddle some mint leaves(basically run a spoon over the leaves to release the oils of the mint) in the simple syrup and pour about a half an ounce of the one ounce in your cup or ideally your silver Julep cup.
Next, add crushed ice to your cup, fill to the top.
Next, pour 4-5 ounces of your favorite bourbon over the ice and complete by adding the remainder of the simple syrup and garnishing with mint leaves.
Now this is no lightweight drink so your not going to be able to have five or six of them.
Enjoy!
