Can't Lauren Conrad find a roommate with a boyfriend who doesn't turn her into a motherly nag?
Our Hills star found herself staring down a Heidi-and-Spencer-like situation on Monday night's episode, in the form of roomie Audrina and her newly on-again boyfriend, Justin. His friends call him Bobby, but after his standoffish meeting with LC, she will likely have less-nice nicknames for him. Belching, hiding under a hood and telling Conrad he doesn't care about her opinion, Justin proved worthy competition for Spencer Pratt as MTV's jerkiest reality boy.
And yet, despite her discomfort and (apparent) desire not to hurt Lauren, Audrina found herself back with the motorcycle-riding bad boy by the episode's end, agreeing to "take him as he is" and, as he put it, "let truth and time tell all." Aww. We can't blame Audrina for giving Justin-Bobby another go around after he displayed depth like that -- after all, it was such a good line they named the episode after it! But will LC be as forgiving? Uh, just ask Heidi!
Meanwhile, in other dysfunctional-relationships-that-LC-doesn't-approve-of news, the newly engaged Heidi and Spencer (let's call them "Speidi") attempted to set the ground rules in their relationship through passive-aggressive home decorating techniques. After Spencer "surprised" Heidi with a graffiti-splashed living room wall and a dining room filled with arcade games, Heidi decided to give him a surprise of his own -- greeting him with a fresh paint job over his "artwork."
As Pratt fumed, Montag explained that if they plan to make this engagement thing work, they need to make decisions together. A still-angry Spencer sarcastically agreed as he stared forlornly at his once-tagged wall. Maybe he was having second thoughts about his earlier admission to Brody that he was done seeing marriage as an institution for dumb guys who can't get laid.
Next week: Spencer ditches a Brody barbecue to meet Heidi's parents, Brody and LC commiserate over their lost friendships, and Audrina encounters more drama with Justin-Bobby.
